We had a very good turn out from as far and wide as Hay on Wye came for our 2014 “Skills Day”.
Raymond Hinds “The Chef at The Bear” put on a wonderful Jamaican Barbecue for us which everyone without fail thoroughly enjoyed.
All commented that it was worth the entrance fee just for the food let alone the excellent tuition provided by Mark Roberts, Lee Davies, Geraint Jones, John Symonds, Chris Price, Alun Rees,Geraint Meadows & Justin Connolly who all gave their services “Free of Charge”. We are very fortunate to have links with all of these GAIA Instructors who rate as some of the best in the country!
Richard Wah – Cheung travelled from Hay on Wye in order to take part in our special day. Richard is our latest Junior recruit to our C&DAS Fly Tying Club. He was joined by his brother Andrew and father Yu-Wah.
Fly Tying demonstrations were held by Paul Slaney and great interest was shown in his variety of flies.
We had a few Juniors turn up who were obviously enjoying their day.
8 year old Ffion Daley had a go with her Dad Andrew on Father’s Day.
A great day was had by all!
We all look forward to next year’s session.
Many thanks to Geraint Meadows & Justin Connolly for organising the event and for all of their hard work “clearing, cutting back and preparing the grounds for such a successful day.
